Rafting Score System
Scoring System Used in International Rafting Competitions
In international rafting competitions, the points that athletes receive according to the order in which they complete the race are subject to a certain scoring system.
Scoring is calculated with percentages determined by ranking, starting with the highest score for each team. For example, 1st place scores 100%, 2nd place 88%, 3rd place 79%, and 4th place 72% etc. While it decreases by 3% for each row from the 5th to the 18th row, a 2% reduction is applied for each row from the 19th to the 32nd row (2% of the 32nd rank is taken as points). The overall scoring of the competition is determined by the total scores of the teams.
• Highest Scores Rafting Athletes Can Get:
• Sprint: 100 Points
• H2h: 200 Points
• Slalom: 300 Points
• River Descent: 400 Points
• Total: 1000 Points
In international rafting competitions, the scoring system is determined very carefully. The points received by each team are calculated according to their order of completion of the race. For example, while the team in first place receives 100% points, other teams receive points in determined percentages depending on the ranking. This system is very important for creating a fair competition environment.
The highest scores that athletes can get in rafting competitions also vary depending on the disciplines. While an athlete can score a maximum of 100 points in the Sprint event, 200, 300 and 400 points can be scored in the H2h (Head to Head), Slalom and River Downhill disciplines, respectively. In total, an athlete can collect up to 1000 points, which crowns success in rafting competitions. Demonstrating the best performance in each discipline is an important factor in determining the athletes' positions in the overall scoring. Therefore, it is of great importance to exhibit the best performance both physically and mentally in rafting competitions.
