Since Antalya is located in a hot climate zone, the areas known as lakes dry out in the summer months. With the onset of precipitation in the winter months, the occupancy rate of the lakes increases.
The northern and western coasts of Antalya are swamps. Manay village and its surroundings in Elmalı district are pit areas known as temporary water cover.
Oymapınar Dam;
Oymapınar dam is located 7 km north of Serik district of Antalya. The dam built on the Manavgat stream was built in 1984! Its construction was completed and it started producing electricity. The dam, which has a production capacity of 540 MV, is higher than many dams in terms of electricity production. Its length is 360 meters and its height is 180 meters. The water storage volume is 310 million cubic meters and the general water area is 4.7 square km. Oymapınar Dam, which is a dam with 2 tunnels, has a tunnel length of 350 to 316 m. Annual production capacity of the dam is 1.65 billion KV/hour.
Alakır Dam;
The dam, located on the Alakır stream, was opened in 1973. The storage capacity of the lake, which was built with earth fill and has a height of 50 m, is approximately 80 million cubic meters. Alakır Dam is also a dam lake.
Korkuteli Dam;
The dry dam on Korkuteli stream was built as a fill. Its height is 70 meters and its area is 670 hectares. It was opened in 1976 and its storage capacity is approximately 5 million cubic meters. Korkuteli dam irrigates an area of 7000 hectares as agricultural land. It is one of the important dams for agriculture. Korkuteli dam is also a dam lake.
